The trail begins with the city at your feet: the Atlantic Ocean spreads like a bright ribbon and buildings step down to the shore as you leave Leblon behind and enter Vidigal. Motorbike taxis slice up the steep lanes, and the favela’s painted houses lean into a green slope that the trail climbs without mercy. The forest breathes cool air; leaves and distant gulls claim the skyline while the city hums below.
