Step into the heart of the Scottish Borders countryside with our Highland Cow Experience - the Highland Coo lover's dream and an unforgettable adventure!

Your journey begins with a scenic trailer ride through the rolling hills, where you’ll soak in breath-taking views before arriving in the field to meet our friendly fold of Highland cows. Get up close, take photos, and experience these iconic, shaggy-haired beauties in their natural setting.

The guided experience lasts approximately 1 hour, after which you're welcome to explore at your own pace. Enjoy a self-guided walk through our designated visitor paddocks, where you can take in more of farm life.

Back at the farmyard, relax with a tea, coffee, or ice cream, and make the most of your visit. Toilets and handwashing facilities are available for your convenience.

Highland Cow Experience – FAQs

When does the experience run, and how long is it? *Starting May 3rd, 2025, sessions run daily at 1:00 PM and last 1 hour. Your booking also includes full farm access, so you can explore before and after.

Do I need to book in advance, and when should I arrive? *Yes, spaces are limited, so booking ahead is recommended. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your session for check-in.

Is it suitable for children, and what should I wear? *Yes, it’s family-friendly, but children must be supervised. Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing—farm areas can be muddy.

Can I pet or feed the cows? *No, for safety reasons, but you’ll get to see them up close, take photos, and learn about them from our team.

What else can I see, and how long can I stay? *Your ticket includes access to the full farm and other animals, and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like before or after your experience.

Are there toilets, refreshments, and is it accessible? *Yes, on-site toilets and refreshments are available. Our tour trailer is fully accessible, and we aim to be inclusive, though some areas may be uneven—please contact us in advance if you need assistance.

Can I bring my dog? *Dogs aren’t allowed in livestock areas or on the circular walk but are welcome on a lead in the enclosed check-in area and car park.
