High-Energy Whirlyball in Novi: Private Courts for Groups Up to 40

Step off I-96 and into an arena of kinetic chaos: Whirlyball in Novi, Michigan, is a two-hour, private-court party that turns friends into a charging, laughing pack. Located in Novi, this venue offers two courts with attached private rooms that seat up to forty people, ideal for birthdays, corporate team-building, or a high-energy night out. The setup is simple and theatrical. On a flat, marked court players drive low, electric bumper cars—called Whirlybugs—while handling handheld scoops to catch and launch a lacrosse-style ball at a central goal. The collision-bumper nature of the cars, the slap of rubber on hardwood, and the quick passing of the ball create a fast, contact sport that feels equal parts dodgeball and basketball. The business includes exclusive use of a private lounge for the duration of your rental, so groups can eat, strategize, or relax between games without sharing space. Practical details matter here: all participants must be at least 54 inches tall to play, and times are strictly reservation-only, scheduled first come, first served. Operators recommend roughly one hour of play for every 10–15 players; a two-hour rental is designed to accommodate rotating squads and give everyone a turn. Whirlyball is play-at-your-own-risk—participants with heart conditions, back or neck problems, pacemakers, or pregnancy are advised not to play. The venue assumes no responsibility for injuries, so basic precautions and respectful play keep the focus on fun. Why book this in Novi? Beyond the game itself, this place functions as a social hub. Its private rooms transform a loud court into a contained event space for food, speeches, or awards. For groups traveling from metro Detroit or staying in Novi before or after outdoor activities in nearby parks, Whirlyball is a reliable way to blow off steam—especially on rainy or cold Michigan days when outdoor options are limited. Insider tips: plan player rotations before you arrive, bring flat-soled indoor shoes, and have a team captain to keep substitutions orderly. Photography is great from the sidelines and lofted lounge areas; burst mode captures the colliding cars and airborne passes. Booking is through the venue’s reservation system; check availability and request a custom lounge quote for groups approaching the forty-person limit. This Whirlyball experience in Novi is a clear, uncomplicated sell: energetic, democratic, and built for groups. It’s not about finesse as much as it is about momentum, laughter, and the strange joy of steering a small car while trying to score. For group organizers who want an unforgettable, contained event with minimal logistical headaches, it’s hard to beat. Reserve early—weekends book quickly—and consider weekday evenings for lower rates and easier availability; contact the venue directly for private-room catering options or custom quotes for larger groups and deposits.
