Adventure tips

Arrive early for best seatsBoarding is first-come; arrive 10–15 minutes early to claim a spot near the glass roof for unobstructed photos.

Dress in layersThe boat is heated, but boarding and disembarking expose you to cold canal winds—bring a warm mid-layer and a windproof shell.

Protect your camera gearLow-light conditions favor lenses with wide apertures and a steady hand or small tripod; use burst mode for sharper shots from a moving boat.

Use public transportAmsterdam Central Station is a short walk away—trams and trains run frequently and reduce the stress of finding parking in winter.

Recommended gear

Warm mid-layer (fleece or insulated jacket): Keeps you comfortable during boarding and while viewing from the deck.
Compact travel tripod or stabilizer: Helps reduce blur for handheld low-light photography from a moving boat.
Small waterproof backpack: Protects camera, phone, and essentials from spray and wet coats.
Reusable cup or hand warmers: Hand warmers add comfort during colder evenings; the cruise includes one complimentary hot drink.
