History

Daaibooi has long served local fishing families; Curaçao’s coastal coves historically supported small-scale fisheries and salt trade during Dutch colonial times.

Conservation

The area’s reefs are sensitive — use reef-safe sunscreen, avoid touching coral, and follow guides’ direction to minimize impact.

Adventure tips

Book golden hour slotsEarly morning or late afternoon light gives richer colors and softer shadows for drone photos; reserve these slots early.

Use reef‑safe sunscreenProtect coral and avoid white streaks in photos by applying reef‑safe sunscreen before your session.

Secure small propsBring only lightweight props that can be tethered; wind and waves can displace items from the kayak.

Notify health concerns in advanceStaff will ask about health; guests with heart conditions should not participate per provider guidance.

Recommended gear

Reef‑safe sunscreen: Prevents coral damage and reduces white sunscreen glare in photos.
Water shoes: Helps with rocky entries and provides traction when getting into the kayak.
Waterproof phone case or dry pouch: Keeps your phone safe for behind-the-scenes shots and personal use.
Light swim layer or rashguard: Protects from sun and wind between poses without creating bulky silhouettes.
