About This Adventure

Meet us at the Harvey Gap Reservoir boat launch!

Duration

7 Hours

Location

Harvey Gap Reservoir is Rifle Gaps sister lake and just 15 mins east of Rifle Gap. At 190-acers it is a hidden gem home to Pike, Smallmouth, Largemouth, Tiger Muskie, Trout, Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, and Catfish. It may be small, but its diverse food web grows HUGE fish. Harvey is where we usually go for the pike fanatics looking to catch a trophy or clients wanting to catch tons of panfish. Largemouth and small mouth fishing gets fired up here as well. Tiger muskies are scarce but there is always the possibility of hooking into an absolute monster.

About

We will be fishing out of a 2003 Lund Fisherman 170 equipped with the latest in marine electronics and fishing gear. There is plenty of room for up to 4 clients. The boat is loaded with absolutely everything we need to target fish whether casting, trolling, jigging, or fly-fishing. Depending on the season and the target species, some days we will focus more heavily on a particular technique. If there are any specific requests, we can tailor the experience to your desires!

We will meet at the boat ramp the day of the trip with the boat already launched. Upon entrance a day use entrance fee will be required for the vehicle ($10). A valid Colorado Fishing License (preferably a two pole rod stamp) is required by each participant.

We will follow the state regulations for harvesting but if taking home some fish is desired we can make that happen.

What to Bring?

  • Fishing license
  • Parks day use pass upon entry
  • Food/Beverages
  • A cooler with ice will be provided on the boat for any food or drink brought. We will use the same cooler to provide optimal deck space and efficiency! Bring a separate cooler with ice if you plan on taking home some fresh fish.
  • Appropriate clothing (ask your guide during pre-trip planning)
  • Hat, Sunglasses, Sun screen, rain jacket, warm jacket.
  • A fish-catching attitude is the most important!
