About This Adventure

Arm yourself with the techniques needed to become an expert with your pistol while also building realistic skills that can survive the test of a life threatening encounter.

  • Great for: Pistol Gun-Owners, beginners to intermediate
  • Gun rentals and ammo purchases for this class are availble when you book.
  • This is the prerequisite for Handgun Skill Builder 2 (HSB2)

About

Do you know the 7 fundamentals you need to shoot your pistol accurately in the heat of the moment? When every millisecond counts, you must be able to rely on muscle memory and react instinctively and instantly. This course is designed to teach you the fundamental techniques necessary to defend yourself in a lethal force encounter.

We will focus on a proper presentation from the holster as well as accurate and timely shot placement.

You are guaranteed to walk away from this class with a defensive skill set and a new found confidence in your ability to safely protect yourself and the people that matter most. This class is designed for beginners to intermediate shooters. This class is also a prerequisite for our Handgun Skill Builder II (HSB2) & III (HSB3) courses.

Details

  • Classes are always scheduled on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Redwood Gun Club in Manila.
  • You will be shooting from 3-10 yards at the Thoracic Cavity and Cranial Ocular Cavity.
  • You will learn how to clear Type 1, 2, & 3 malfunctions.
  • You will learn tactical reloads, emergency reloads, and administrative reloads.
  • We will introduce stress inoculation tests at the end of class.
  • This is a high-volume shooting course. Bring 300-500 rounds of ammo. No reloads—ammo will be inspected to ensure it is new.
  • Please review the “What to Bring” section below for gear requirements.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old to register. Participants under 21 allowed if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian that is also enrolled in the course.
  • This is the prerequisite for our Handgun Skill Builder 2 (HSB2) course.

What to Bring

  • Medium to Full-Size Pistol
  • Gun Belt
  • Hydrate! Bring a Water Bottle
  • Lunch
  • One outside the waistband holster—your holster should be either leather or Kydex specifically designed for the make and model of your pistol. No shoulder holsters or soft pancake holsters. Your holster needs to be able to remain open with no gun inside it.
  • 300-400 rounds of ammo - Factory new ammunition only. No reloads. No steel core or bare lead ammo. Jacketed ammo only.
  • 3 or more magazines
  • 2 or more magazine holsters
  • Dump Pouch
  • Electronic Hearing Protection - Electronic Hearing Protection will be provided if you don't have any.
