Full-day, half-day and closed-halibut GAF trips targeting King salmon, halibut, rockfish and Pacific cod.
Puffin Fishing Charters is a Seward-based charter operation specializing in guided saltwater fishing trips across Alaska’s productive coastal grounds. The company offers a range of experiences — from action-packed 8-hour trips for Pacific cod, rockfish and silver salmon to full 12-hour excursions that target king (Chinook) salmon and trophy halibut. Puffin Fishing Charters operates licensed vessels with experienced captains who use proven techniques including mooching for salmon and heavy-tackle halibut fishing.
Trips include standard halibut and rockfish charters, multi-species combo options, a 3/4-day non-halibut combo, special early-season and late-season halibut & rockfish departures at $325 per person, and unique GAF (one-gaff) halibut combos that fish on closed-halibut days. Safety, local knowledge, and responsible harvesting are central to the service offering: captains adhere to Alaska regulations, provide instruction for anglers of all skill levels, and handle fish care for customers looking to bring home fresh fillets.
Puffin Fishing Charters is ideal for anglers seeking guided, high-success fishing in Seward’s scenic waters — whether pursuing a trophy king salmon, a giant halibut, or filling a cooler with cod and rockfish. Scheduling accommodates day trips and special closed-halibut GAF opportunities, and the fleet departs from convenient local launch points for easy access to top fishing grounds.
“Every outing is organized with local river knowledge, basic safety instruction, and equipment checks before departure.”
