Sea Kayaking

A 15-minute water taxi cruse visiting Gull Island seabird rookery home to 10,000 nesting seabirds and puffins, cormorants, kittiwakes and more. Then cruise to a nearby beach where you gear-up, receive instructions and begin sea kayaking along the coast. Sea otters & seals are common and sometimes porpoises, sea lions, and different species of whales. Paddle by the charming artist hamlet of Halibut Cove, surrounded with the beauty of Kachemak Bay state park.

No experience is necessary!

First time paddlers will discover our double kayaks are stable, safe, roomy and a blast to paddle. Perfect for someone who has never been in a kayak before.

Grewgink Glacier Lake Hike (self guided)

A three-mile round trip hike begins at the Saddle trailhead, a moderate hike up a series of switchbacks to the top of the saddle. The remainder of the hike is easy, down to the level glacial moraine opening to a glacier lake with ice bergs at the foot of Grewgink glacier, surrounded by tall, mountain peaks. The easy hike back rewards you with views of Halibut Cove & Kachemak Bay.

Schedule

  • Sea Kayaking 10:am to 3:pm ~ 5 hours.
  • The self-guided Grewgink Glacier Lake hike begins after Kayaking and returns at 6:pm ~ 8 hours.
