The van eases out of Madrid dawn or midday light, leather seats reclining as the motorway cuts toward the Sierra de Guadarrama. Outside, the valley opens and the dramatic silhouette of Segovia's skyline appears: the Aqueduct's granite arches punctuating the town, the squat towers of the Alcázar rising from their rocky plinth, and the cathedral's tall spire skirting the sky.

Segovia’s aqueduct dates to the 1st century AD and is one of Spain’s best-preserved Roman monuments; the Alcázar evolved from a 12th-century fortress to a royal palace.
The historic center is protected; visitors should avoid climbing on the aqueduct, stick to marked paths, and support local conservation by using guided services and local businesses.
