Morning mist lifts off Lake Taneycomo and the boat’s bow parts cold, clear water as the guide trims the motor to a whisper. You feel the difference immediately: this is a power-drift—engineed positioning where a focused burst of thrust places you over seams, then the motor eases so the hull drifts silently while line and fly do the rest. The river-lake below Table Rock Dam reads like a ledger of trout habitat—deep tailrace currents, spring-fed riffles and sheltered shallows where trout hold.
