Go bottom fish off the coast of Newport, Oregon! Every fish has it’s flavor-able characteristic and Oregon’s bottom fish are no exception. Some also call it Rock Fishing. This trip is near shore and uses light tackle. This is a great trip for anyone new to fishing and for those who have fished their whole lives. With Yaquina Bay Charters, we’ll take you to some of the best near shore reefs where you’ll find a variety of fish including Sea Bass, Sea Trout, Cabazon and the much sought after Ling Cod. If you want to really round it off, add Dungeness crabbing to your trip. Crabbing is closed in the ocean and not available from Oct. 16 through Nov. 30.
This trip is recommended for anyone 6 years old and older.
Half day bottom fishing is offered 7 days a week and year around. Full day trips are available from October 1st through March 31st.
*** Bottom fish are great for fish and chips, sautéed, baked, barbaqued, or added to a Ciopinno. Mild in flavor, rock fish are a welcome meal for even novice seafood eaters.
