A mid-morning van winds up coastal switchbacks and eases into a pocket of shade; the air smells of sea salt and pine. Visitors step from the vehicle into the hush of stone—Drogarati’s cavernous mouth swallows sound, then returns it amplified, the stalactites and stalagmites like slow-moving sculptures grown from dripping time. Later, the underground lake at Melissani greets the light: a sudden slice of sky reflected in water that dares you to look away.
