About

You will discover abundant wildlife, while hearing the history of Native Americans, steamships, missionaries, pioneers, miners, outlaws, mayhem and more along the way on your 6 1/2Hour 130 mile Round Trip Tour!

Travel through vast reaches of remote wilderness and whitewater rapids located along the borders of eastern Washington, western Idaho and eastern Oregon.

Enjoy your first stop for a coffee break with bathroom facilities at our private riverfront Heller Bar Lodge.

Learn historical accounts of early Steamships on the Snake River while traveling to Eureka Bar. See the sight where 2000 gold fevered miners were camped in 1898 including the remnants of the hotel/saloon, post office, and building for a stamp mill constructed, and financed by East Coast investors. The rapids on the Snake river had only rarely been surmounted by a steamboat, and generally only with the aid of a steel cable for lining used to winch the entire boat upstream through the rapids. After only a few trips, Imnaha was destroyed in Mountain Sheep rapids, just downstream from the mining settlement of Eureka, on the Oregon side of the river.

You will visit Cache Creek to view an interpretive center maintained by the U.S. Forest Service. Cache Creek was once a part of the Dobbin and Huffman Sheep Co. that operated in the early 1900’s. An excellent representation of early settler life in Hells Canyon
