Enjoy one of the best kayaking destinations that Anchorage has to offer, with transportation and lunch included! One of our experienced guides will take you out to the beautiful, turquoise waters of Eklutna Lake for a scenic and enjoyable kayaking session. We start by getting you properly outfitted with a personal flotation device, paddle, and sea kayak. We'll paddle approximately 5 miles to a lookout point where we will enjoy a light lunch and enjoy the serene landscape surrounding us. Wildlife is abundant, and we could possibly see a moose swimming in the lake, or a bear and her cubs grazing on the hillsides. After the break we will casually kayak back across the lake while taking in more sights and sounds of the Eklutna Valley.
Minimal experience required; however, you should have good balance and be comfortable kayaking on open water. Weather conditions on the lake can change fast and without warning, with winds possibly making for choppy water. Guests should be able to sit in a kayak for an extended period. Not recommended for those with major cardiac or respiratory issues/illness.
Weather can change quickly; wear moisture-wicking and insulating layers.
