The Pigeon Point section of the Trinity River is the most popular segment and is one of the best family friendly, beginner to intermediate, Class III whitewater trips in northern California and the western US. This trip starts with plenty of relaxing, floating, swimming, and wildlife viewing opportunities, and finishes with some great exciting whitewater rapids. Your trip includes pristine swimming holes, gorgeous sandy beaches, and exhilarating rapids. You’ll also get VIP treatment when the guides stop and teach you have to play “riverstyle.” Trips include a light snack of chips and salsa and granola bars.The recommended minimum age for this section is 7+.
The weather in Northern California is generally warm and sunny in the summer months, but can be unpredictable so please bring an extra layer of polypropylene or wool for warmth on spring days. All rafters should wear sandals that strap on your feet or tennis shoes with rubber bottoms, sorry but flip flops can not be worn on whitewater trips. Participants should wear clothes suitable for swimming, as well as bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.
