You will tour Washington Island by Segway on this FUN half-day excursion! After the ferry ride, it is all Segwaying from there to live the cultural and natural highlights of the island.
On this all-inclusive half-day tour, you will visit many of the highlights of Washington Island. Once on the island, you travel by Segway from the ferry dock to Schoolhouse Beach for lunch. Along the way, some of the cultural sites you may visit are the Lavender Farm, Stavkirke Church, Jacobsen Museum, Farm Museum, Mountain Park Lookout Tower, Historic Island Dairy, and Nelson’s Hall.
Washington Island is a very unique place with its rural landscape and eccentric destinations. As you are guided across the length of the island, you will stop to pick up lunch and often eat at Schoolhouse Beach. You will take in the beauty of canopied roads and beautiful shorelines. After Segwaying about 20 miles, you will not feel tired because you have had plenty of stops to visit the sites.
The price includes a roundtrip on the ferry, to and from Washington Island, your choice of a box lunch (or a restaurant lunch depending on the season), a Segway PT lesson, and a glide around the island. This is a great way to see the island for the first time or to see it as you have never seen it before on this half-day guided tour.
How it works: Make a reservation ahead of time. We meet near the Washington Island Ferry dock in Northport and train in the parking lot before riding the Segway right onto the Ferry (included in price). You will enjoy the ferry ride to the island and the tour guide will take your lunch order. You will then ride the Segway right off the ferry. At some point on the glide the guide may give you a choice between two attractions to visit. You will enjoy the lunch (included in price). About 5 hours later you will return back to your car.
