This experience is approximately 90 minutes long and includes a 1/2 mile walk to and from the house. A portion of the tour is held outdoors before entering the house for the interior portion of the tour. Allow Additional Time to explore the grounds and and discover seasonal art exhibitions.

Join an expert tour guide for a fascinating dialogue of the Edith Farnsworth House and the nearly 60 acres surrounding it. As you travel the serene, wood-chipped paths along the Fox River to the house, discover the unique history of the area and land through our 2024-2025 interpretive focus, Nature+Culture.

Please note a portion of this tour is held outdoors. Guests are encouraged to be prepared for the elements and pack a water bottle.

More Information

Wristbands are required to enter the House. Exterior grounds access for the day is included in this ticket. You do not need to purchase an additional Exterior Ticket to enjoy the property. All children 2+ require a ticket.

Photography for personal use is permitted. No drones, selfie sticks, tripods, or stabilizers are allowed on the property. By attending a tour, program, exhibition, or event, you consent to your image being used in Edith Farnsworth House marketing, social media, and publications. Please speak with a staff member if you do not want your photograph taken.

The tour begins at the Visitor Center with an introductory film before stepping off to travel to the house. There is a 1/2 mile walk from the Visitor Center to the Edith Farnsworth House. Golf cart transportation is availalbe upon request. Socks are required for the interior portion of the tour.

Pets are not allowed on the property, and there is not a shaded place to leave them at the Visitor Center.

PRESERVATION WORK IN PROGRESS

We are excited to continue important preservation work on the Edith Farnsworth House grounds this season! During your visit you may see this critical work in action as we continue work on the first phase of our landscape renovation.
