Catalina Island is a world-class scuba diving destination, and scuba divers from all over the world travel here to explore and photograph the numerous species of marine life found in the Casino Point Underwater Park. Catalina's giant kelp forests are ranked as one of the top 10 diving destinations in the world! The Casino Point Underwater Dive Park is a protected Marine Reserve located in beautiful Avalon, just minutes from the Catalina Express. In the Marine Reserve it is unlawful to fish or remove anything (other than trash), which makes it great for observing marine life. We dive Casino Point on a daily basis, and we greatly enjoy showing off our beautiful Kelp Forrest, majestic Giant Black Sea Bass, the California state fish the Garibaldi, Kelp Bass, Sheep head, Bat Rays, Morey Eels, various Nudibranchs, Yellow Tail, as well as Sea Stars, Sea Hares, and the occasional playful Sea Lion, Harbor Seal, Leopard Shark and Horn Sharks.
