Adventure Tips

Wear Quick-Drying Clothing

Expect to get wet—opt for lightweight, moisture-wicking clothes rather than denim or heavy fabrics.

Bring Sun Protection

A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are vital to guard against strong Australian sun during your paddle.

Hydrate for the Journey

Pack a water bottle to stay hydrated; paddling in the sun can be deceptively dehydrating.

Secure Your Belongings

Use water-resistant bags or keep valuables in sealed containers to avoid damage from splashes or dunking.

Local Insights

Wildlife

  • Australian water dragons basking on logs
  • Varieties of waterbirds including kookaburras and black swans
