About:

Located on the windward coast of Oahu, Kane’ohe Bay is home to Oahu's only barrier reef. Enjoy a guided eco-tour with Kama'aina Kids' friendly staff of certified instructors. Experience the magnificence of Kane'ohe Bay's pristine waters and diverse sea life with the only eco-tour adventure on the bay!

Your adventure starts on land at He'eia State Park, where your guides will outfit you with dry bags, life jackets, and snorkeling gear. The land-based portion of the tour also includes an educational and safety briefing and paddling instruction to make sure everybody is comfortable with the equipment and ready to go. Then your guides will attach everybody in their kayaks to your escort boat and give the group a tow for a few minutes just to give you a head start getting towards the snorkeling destination. Once headed in the right direction, all the kayaks are unhooked to paddle the rest of the way to a remote patch reef over one mile offshore in Kane'ohe Bay. Our safety boat and guide are there at all times to watch over the group and make sure everybody is doing okay. Once at the snorkeling site, the kayaks reattach to the safety boat, and you can stand on shallow sand on a pristine patch reef over a mile out in the ocean!

After a light snack and drink and a little eco-education about the bay, reef, and marine life, it's time to snorkel! Your guide will get all the gear ready for you and give good instructions for anybody who may be a beginner. This is the safest and best possible place for beginners to get comfortable. From their kayak, your guide will keep an eye on everybody to ensure safety. The drop off at the reef's edge is where you'll see the most corals, fish, hopefully sea turtles, and more! After the snorkeling session, we'll regroup back at the kayaks and get ready for the paddle home. The escort boat and guide are always there for everybody, making sure we're all safe and just in case anybody would prefer the tow. But make sure you work up an appetite for the delicious BBQ lunch that awaits you once you land back at He'eia State Park!
