The tour also includes a special visit to the Hallstedt Homestead Cherry Farm, where picking your own cherries adds a delicious, hands-on touch to the outing. Ride Leelanau is a Suttons Bay, Michigan-based e-bike rental and tour operator specializing in electric bicycle experiences across Leelanau County. The business offers a range of rental options — from three-hour outings to week-long adventures — and a diverse fleet that includes electric trikes, fat-tire e-bikes, cargo bikes, city cruiser styles, and Rad Runner models. Helmets and child seats are provided, and many rentals are available to riders aged 16 and older. Ride Leelanau runs a popular weekly group ride called WEELEE (Weekly Ebike Excursion–Leelanau), which meets on Wednesdays and visits a different vineyard along the Leelanau Trail. Test rides are offered with 23 e-bike models across Rad Power, Velotric, and Lectric. Test rides last about 25 minutes, include a purchase discount, and the test fee is refunded for same-day purchases. Maintenance services include e-bike general tune ups, covering chain care, tire pressure checks, alignment, and component security. Ride Leelanau hosts special events, including a Veterans Ride to the Red, White and Blues Charity Ride to Bel Lago led by Tim M on August 16, supporting Reining Liberty Ranch’s equine therapy. Group rides and special events connect riders with local wineries and charities.
