You step into the thin Parisian air at the base of iron ribs that rise like an industrial cathedral, the city unfolding in every direction. The guide checks the small group (max 25) and leads you to the dedicated climber’s entrance; the stairwell hums with the quiet rhythm of boots and conversation as you begin the ascent.
moderate.
2 hours.
Moderate cardiovascular fitness and comfortable stair-climbing ability; expect steady leg work.
No — this tour uses a dedicated entry for climbers but is not a skip-the-line product; it minimizes wait compared with general admission lines.
The guided climb covers 674 steps to reach the 2nd-floor observation deck; an optional Summit elevator ticket takes you to the very top from the 2nd floor.
Infants and small children can be in a pram or stroller, but the stair climb is physically demanding—parents should assess whether carrying a child is necessary and manageable.
Not recommended for travelers with heart, spinal problems, or pregnancy; people with limited mobility should consider elevator access via standard admission instead of the stair climb.
Constructed for the 1889 World’s Fair by Gustave Eiffel’s engineering company, the tower symbolized industrial modernity and originally faced mixed public opinion.
The tower undergoes regular maintenance, painting, and corrosion control; visitors should follow signage, avoid littering, and respect barriers to help preserve the structure.
