The engine rumbles to life and salt spray hits the air as your guide leads a small group out from Jaco Beach House toward Mizata Beach. Tracks crunch over packed sand, cliffs loom to one side and the Pacific stretches in a flat, restless line; the coast pushes you forward while the wind insists you slow to take a picture.

3–4 hours.
Moderate fitness: able to handle repeated starts/stops, balance on uneven terrain and short hikes at viewpoints.
No formal license is required; the tour includes a practice session and safety briefing, but riders should have basic vehicle coordination and confidence on uneven ground.
Age limits vary by operator; children may be allowed to ride as passengers but check the specific provider for minimum age and passenger rules.
The tour may be canceled for heavy rain or unsafe conditions—bookings typically offer a full refund if canceled at least 24 hours prior or by the operator for weather.
The tour departs from Jaco Beach House; some operators list nearby public transport options but confirm pickup or private transfer when booking.
Mizata’s shoreline has long been used by small-scale fishermen; the coast’s volcanic sands reflect the region’s position along Central America’s active tectonic margin.
Stick to marked routes and avoid disturbing nesting sites or coastal vegetation; local guides emphasize leaving no trash and supporting small businesses.
