Please arrive 5 minutes early, so we can begin promptly. You'll recieve a QR code with your confirmation email that we will scan to check you in, so bring your phone.

Accessibility

Our guide is conversant in British Sign Language. We are wheelchair and pushchair accessible. There are no cobbles to cross or kerbs to mount. There are two slopes. One short downhill (about 50 metres) and a longer uphill (about 350 metres). These are both around a one in twenty gradient. We are dog friendly. Please contact us if you have any further questions or about any accommodations you may require.

Itinerary

  1. Your journey begins at the Moot Hall in the historic market place
  2. Next, we pause at the Abbey flagstones, to learn Hexhams darkest day.
  3. Wending through the Abbey grounds we'll share the details of the struggle to keep this holy site over the centuries.
  4. Walking through the beautiful Sele Park, we cross over Cockshaw Burn (stream) to consider a lifetime spent doing Hexham's worst job.
  5. Passing the grounds of Hexham House, we'll hear of Hexham's foulest secret before making our return to the Market Place.
