1.5 hour
Book to share 2 boards amongst 3 and take turns. Sharing like this works great as it gives each person close on an hour of riding time and forces each to have some times out which is great for resting and integrating, thus making this a fulfilling and affordable way to have a ton of fun as a group. Each gets an opportunity to also look on, take pics and yewww from the sidelines.
Different skill or confidence levels are welcome and your Fliteboarding teacher is there to guide each of you with what you need. Riding lying down, kneeling up or standing, are all options and you will be shown how to control whether you are riding on the water or flying above it.
Sometimes we go on a bit of a ride further up or down the river towards the end of our fliteboarding time.
WHAT TO EXPECT AS A BEGINNER You can expect to have fun, for it to be easier than you thought, and to have an experience of planing on the water and foiling above the water. Learning Efoiling is easier than learning to surf and on flat water, with controllable power and speed, you will advance quickly
Support as to how Fliteboard works Learning about the Flite controller and how to control its speed and stopping Safety considerations Things to know about the location Positioning on the board and how this relates to planing and foiling How to get the most out of the session
Lying down riding / not foiling Kneeling up riding / not foiling Kneeling up foiling or not Standing up riding on surface Standing up foiling
Instructor is on his own fliteboard to follow and support.
INTERMEDIATE SKILL We focus on refining feet positioning combined with gear speed use, and how to gain confidence turning. You will also move from the larger Fliteboard to the Pro and in some cases the Ultra board. If desired these lessons may lead to a dedicated efoil session in the surf. (Refer to the website for more info)
ADVANCED We focus on higher and lower speed turning, pumping and greater height control, the use of different wings, the more refined use of Flite controller gears and efoiling in the ocean and the Free glide prop.
Sharing two boards among three riders balances plenty of on-water time with rest periods.
Even calm estuary turns can challenge balance; a PFD increases safety on the water.
UV rays intensify on reflective water—apply sunscreen before your session to avoid burns.
Efoiling is unexpectedly physical; keeping hydrated helps maintain energy and focus.
