Group line diving is for divers who have completed and PASSED a freediving course. In order to maintain an environment of safety and provide confidence for all the divers present, it is essential that everyone is a proficient diver themselves and can perform as a qualified safety for the other divers on their float.
If you have taken a class but still need to pass the requirements, you can book a refresher session, which is on the Group Line Diving calendar but is listed as a refresher session. This is a group coaching session which will have an instructor dedicated to your float, who can safety you and work on your technique. If you got a free line diving session from one of our classes, that $25 discount can be applied to these refresher sessions, as well as the $25 discount for leaving us a google review. If you signed up for the standard Group Line Diving but did not pass your course requirements, we will not be able to bring you out with the rest of the line divers until you have passed.
These are sessions to develop skills and relaxation in the water through controlled and comfortable repetition. This is NOT the place to push to extremes. It is on you to stay within your limits, and if our crew members tell you to dial it back and stop pushing depth or bottom times repeatedly, we have the right to remove you from the session and ask you to not come back. If you want to push freediving on your own time that’s up to you, but our group sessions are not the place. If you have a blackout, loss of motor control, or squeeze at one of our sessions you are not permitted to dive anymore for that day, and we also have the right to remove you from future sessions. We understand that things happen, but especially if one of our crew members has mentioned to you that you need to slow down your depth progression and you disregard them, you will no longer be eligible to dive with us during these sessions as you are posing a huge risk to yourself, our staff, and the group overall.
These sessions are at the core of who we are at Just Get Wet, we love them and need to make sure they stay safe, enjoyable, and fun for everyone involved. We hope you understand these changes and clarifications, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
We will meet at Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores. Feel free to bring your gear out to the park, we usually change out there and leave our bags. After we're all dressed out we will kick out to the canyon and do some diving! It's usually a 10-15 minute swim out to the canyon and then we spend a good hour or two training.
We will have floats and lines for you to dive on, but you will need to have the rest of your gear.
