What to Wear

  • Dress in layers with a rainproof jacket

The boat has a heater and the viewing platforms are covered and protected from the elements, but the weather changes.

Bear Viewing Guidelines

  • Food or beverage other than water must not be consumed or carried on your person near the river, estuary, or viewing stands to avoid any possible food conditioning of the bears.
  • Smoking is not permitted on the Grizzly Tour (which is 3 hours). You will have the opportunity to before and after.
  • Photographic flash devices startle the bears and may chase them off. Please turn your camera flash off.
  • Please keep noise and movement on the viewing stands to a minimum to avoid displacing the bears from their food source.
  • Please do not signal to the bears in any way using hand motions or auditory signals. The bear will ignore you but will soon drift off into the bush. Just be patient and ready for when a good picture opportunity presents itself.
  • Be aware that bears are particularly sensitive to smell. Please avoid wearing strong smelling perfumes or deodorants, and citronella insect repellent.
  • No pepper spray, bear spray, or firearms
