You step off the minivan into sharp mountain light and the Taurus range leans in around a sheet of green water — the Oymapınar reservoir stretching like a quiet inland fjord. The boat slips from the concrete lip and the canyon exhales; cliffs rise, waterfalls thread down limestone faces, and small tree-topped islets pass like islands in a secluded sea.

The Oymapınar barrage reshaped the Manavgat valley when it was built and opened a new inland waterway; the reservoir submerged older river terraces and created the canyon vistas seen from the boat.
Stay on board paths, dispose of waste in bins at the restaurant, and use reef-safe sunscreen to limit chemical runoff into the reservoir.
