How do I pay for tickets?

Payment is via the bookings page on the Downs Explorer website; VISA and Mastercard are accepted. For invoice requests (groups), email events@downsexplorer.org.au.

Can I sit with my friend?

Email events@downsexplorer.org.au with your name, your friend’s name and the tour date and the operator will do their best to seat you together.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

Follow the instructions in the ticket email for changes. Refunds are limited; credits toward future tours are available and stored in the booking system.

No. Snacks, drinks and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase from the onboard cafe carriage; BYO alcohol is not permitted.

Is the train accessible?

Ramps are available for access but you must be able to walk a few paces; there is one step to navigate when boarding.

Will the train always be steam-powered?

Steam is used when available; where steam is unavailable the service operates with the Heritage Diesel Locomotive and passengers will be notified of changes.
