The morning air off Kingstown is warm and sharp as you step into a private, air‑conditioned van and head south toward the leeward slopes. Coastal scrub gives way to narrow trails where the walk tightens and the island’s volcanic backbone shows itself in dark, fractured rock. Gorilla Rock rises like an outcrop that dares you to climb, its ridges offering staggered views back toward the harbor and the serrated horizon of the Grenadines.
easy.
6–8 hours.
Suitable for most adults with basic mobility; some short steep or rocky sections require steady footing.
The guided trek through the mountain area typically lasts about 2–3 hours including stops to view wildlife and local farms.
The tour includes time at Questelles Beach where guides stay nearby; there is no lifeguard, so swim within your comfort level and with a buddy.
Wear sturdy shoes for the hike and bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection, and a light change of clothes for the return trip.
The operator lists the route as suitable for all fitness levels; children and older guests should be able to manage short steep sections but may require a slower pace.
The south leeward area reflects Saint Vincent’s volcanic origins and small-scale agriculture; walking trails cross old farmland plots used by local families for generations.
Use reef‑safe sunscreen and avoid trampling vegetation; stick to designated paths to limit erosion on volcanic slopes.
