The route sits on Razorback sandbars and shallow channels carved by tidal flow; the geology of the Broadwater is a mix of sandbanks and reclaimed tidal flats shaped over millennia. The coastal waters are part of the broader Yugambeh country and were a seasonal fishing and transport corridor long before modern marinas took shape.
