This tour has it all, a world class climb, a breathtaking descent, and mountain vistas that will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. A mountainous adventure, this outing is perfect if you have experience on a bike and have dreamed of a Colorado mountain journey with the strength of a Tour De France rider.
After getting you geared up, we will make our way to Cheyenne Canon Park, where you will begin your climb to the sky. As you pedal up this beautiful mountain park, you will gain more than 1200 feet of elevation and experience Helen Hunt Falls, a popular waterfall. As you continue to ascend to the top, we will hit the dirt at Gold Camp Road, a local hotspot. As you explore historic railroad tunnels blasted out in the 1880’s you will be treated to enchanting mountain landscapes that will tickle your senses.
You will be provided with a Rocky Mountain Fusion Powerplay 30 E-Bike (or a late model standard Specialized Bike with regular pedals if you prefer).
This tour does climb a mountain and does require skills such as shifting and braking. The E-bikes do much of the work for you, but they are pedal assist bikes, so they do require some effort on your part. The duration of the tour is approximately 2.5-3 hours; the amount of mileage that we cover will largely depend on your cycling skill and how often we stop.
If you are an experienced rider, you will consider this an intermediate adventure.
If you are low on experience, but high on adventure, this will be an advanced ride.
If you have never ridden a bike before, this is not be the adventure for you.
Ensure your e-bike battery is fully charged before starting; the trail covers several miles with assisted power but limited recharge options.
Mountain weather can shift quickly; pack breathable layers to stay comfortable throughout changes in temperature and sunlight.
Some downhill sections have gravel patches; keep a steady speed and use caution to maintain control on tighter turns.
Though the ride is assisted, staying hydrated and fueled is vital for an enjoyable journey.
