Glowball After Dark Assault: UV Paintball Night Games in Hamurana

GLOWBALL - After Dark Assault is a high-energy glow-in-the-dark paintball experience at Zombieland, located at 1311 Oturoa Road, Hamurana 3072, New Zealandtttt. This 1.5-hour evening game turns familiar forest clearings and themed outdoor fields into a fluorescent battleground under infrared and ultraviolet lights. Players from groups and parties slip into protective masks, ponchos and gloves, load glowing paint rounds, and sprint between bunkers, barricades and theatrical set pieces that give this venue its Zombieland personality. The attraction’s signature element is the luminous ammunition: paintballs that fluoresce under UV, making shots and splatter read like neon fireworks against the night. The fields themselves mix open corridors, low scrub, and man-made obstacles, offering sudden sight-lines and close-quarters engagement. When dusk falls the glow effect intensifies; muzzle flashes and splats leap out of shadow and every ambush feels immediate. For adrenaline seekers and team-building groups, GLOWBALL compresses tactical thinking, short sprints, and burst teamwork into a compact session. Operational details are straightforward: games run after hours, require a minimum group of ten players, and accept participants aged 12 and up. Zombieland supplies guns, safety masks, gloves and ponchos; extra paintballs and a BBQ hire are available for purchase. Staff maintain strict safety rules: abusive behavior is prohibited and equipment damage is charged to the participant, while wet weather may force cancellations for safety. No alcohol service is provided on site. This offering stands out in New Zealand by combining night play, UV aesthetics and themed staging in a rural Bay of Plenty setting. Hamurana’s mix of low native vegetation and cleared paddocks creates natural sight-lines that work well for illuminated play; the location is an easy drive for Rotorua and surrounding towns. For groups planning an event, book early to meet the ten-player minimum and arrive at least ten minutes prior to check-in. Why book it? GLOWBALL reframes paintball into a sensory night game that’s as much about visual spectacle as it is about strategy. Photo opportunities are limited by low light, but the neon splat and player silhouettes create memorable footage for social feeds. Whether you’re organizing a birthday, corporate exercise or a friends’ outing, this After Dark Assault offers fast-paced matches, theatrical staging and a different way to test reflexes under UV glow. Bring sturdy closed-toe shoes, a headlamp for walking to parking, and clothing you don’t mind getting paint on; staff recommend layering as nights can be cool. Extra paintballs cost $25 per 100 or $80 per 500 and BBQ hire is available for $25 when reserved at booking. Remember all bookings are legally binding under Zombieland terms and conditions; games run in light rain unless staff cancel for safety. Pack water, ID and readiness to move fast and fun.
