Participants should be in very good cardiovascular shape and comfortable hiking on steep, icy terrain for several hours.
No prior experience is required; guides teach crampon use, ice-axe arrest and basic ice-tool moves before technical pitches.
Specialized ice-climbing boots, crampons, helmets, harnesses and ice tools are provided; participants should bring appropriate layers and personal items.
This trip is not recommended for guests with heart or spinal conditions or for pregnant travelers; a high level of fitness is required.
