The glass-bottom boat slips away from Gili Trawangan’s harbor and the sea immediately takes center stage — turquoise light fractures through the hull and you can already spot coral gardens drifting below. By midmorning the group disperses across shallow bommies: the carved Statue reef, a cheery fish-feeding patch, a seagrass meadow where green turtles graze, and the reef known as Blue Coral, alive with color and current.
