Located off the Caribbean coast of Mexico, Cozumel is a vibrant island known for its rich Mayan heritage, turquoise waters, and lush landscapes. Best Buy Tours offers a distinct way to navigate this historic terrain with their Ghost Town Horses & Beach Break Tour, an immersive journey through the original settlement paths of the island. This 3.5-hour horseback ride follows the trails of the Cozumel Ghost Town, an area where Mayan descendants established the first community in the 1500s.
Riders mount well-trained horses guided by local ranchers, setting off along dirt paths flanked by native flora including towering ceiba trees and bright bougainvillea. The route weaves past a compact Mayan ruin, offering a glimpse into ancient architecture made from coral stone and limestone—the natural bedrock of the island. Alongside, a modest church built in colonial style and a lively market plaza bring the village’s history and culture to life.
The tour’s authentic charm lies not only in the ride but in its conclusion: a laid-back beach break on Cozumel’s east coast. Here, beneath swaying palms and ocean breezes, guests savor specialty drinks like Coco Loco and renowned mojitos, accompanied by fresh pineapple Pina Coladas. This fusion of culture, history, and relaxation makes Best Buy Tours a standout among Cozumel’s outdoor adventures.
Beyond the scenic beauty, the company’s approach highlights respectful interaction with local traditions and the environment. Their routes maintain a minimal footprint, and riders learn about the island’s preservation efforts throughout. Whether you’re drawn by horseback riding, archaeological intrigue, or beachside respite, this tour offers a uniquely balanced experience emblematic of Cozumel’s adventurous spirit.
