About

This tour explores the South East Georgian Core of Dublin, the city's most gracious district, with its elegant 18th and 19th-century buildings, its aristocratic clubhouses, townhouses and plutocratic mansions.

We'll explore around Dawson, Molesworth and Kildare Streets; including fascinating backstreets like School House Lane, and we'll learn the stories behind within buildings, and about buildings themselves, full of clues we’ll show you how to detect and decode.

We might discuss a now-forgotten woman novelist who once ruled the literary world; or an old French Count who once arrived in Dublin, disguised as a work of Art!

Overall, this is of our favourite tours, with its mix of architecture, literary, revolutionary, social and political history and its wonderful collection of buildings and institutions. Join us.

Our selection typically includes:

  • One of the finest Victorian era Gothic-Revival buildings in the world.
  • Dawson, Kildare and Molesworth Streets
  • Elegant St Stephen’s Green.
  • The National Museum and Library
  • Masonic Hall
  • Lord Mayors House
  • Georgian Ball Room
  • A superb 1930’s Government departmental office block in Art Deco style
  • Wonderful 19th-century Neo-Byzantine church
