Welcome to Australia’s first immersive, ‘trick-art’ gallery! Priceless photos. Unbelievable scenarios. The gallery first opened at The District in 2016. The first of its kind, it is a self-guided gallery suitable for all ages, groups small or large with visitors taking hundreds of photographs with family and friends, memories that will last a lifetime.
Just take a look at the ArtVo Instagram page @artvo_melbourne, not short of inspiration for your next visit. And there’s a new theme – Fantasy – spanning the entire course of the gallery. The Fantasy theme will see people explore the ocean, polar ice caps, space and the forest. Plus, the dreamscape art will see some very exciting interactive experiences.
A PERFECT DAY OUT AT THE DISTRICT DOCKLANDS MELBOURNE. Stepping into a world of optical illusions, the larger than life murals allow people of all ages to come face to face with wild animals, scale rocky crevasses and surf the ultimate pipelines. Stretching over 1400 square metres, visitors can walk through a variety of different zones, each with its own spectacular illusions.
ArtVo offers everyone the chance to experience the traditional art museum in a whole new way. It offers their patrons the opportunity, to not only touch the art but be the art by simply striking a pose in front of the camera. What is even more refreshing are the museum staff who encourage you to take as many photos and selfies as possible. They can assist you so you and your friends are free to become part of the art at all times. 15 artists, 1000 litres of paint, 800 hours and over 80 new artworks.

WHAT DO I GET WITH MY TICKET?
The standard visit includes a quick introduction to the patrons before they head into the gallery explaining the concept of the artwork and how the photos are taken. Afterwards they are free to head into the gallery and go through at their own pace with staff in the gallery to assist. Most of the visit is self-guided other than the initial introduction. The experience generally takes around 1 hour.
