Adventure tips

Book monument tickets earlyThe Taj Mahal has controlled entry windows; confirm your admission time and bring a printed or mobile ticket to avoid delays.

Dress respectfullyWear clothing that covers shoulders and knees—lightweight fabrics work best in heat and help with sun exposure.

Hydrate and sun-protectCarry a refillable water bottle and sunscreen—courtyards offer little shade, especially in summer.

Keep time for transitThe itinerary is tightly scheduled around train times—factor in security checks and brief walking distances at stations.

Recommended gear

Comfortable walking shoes: Sturdy, breathable shoes help with uneven paths and steps inside forts and mausoleums.
Refillable water bottle: Stay hydrated during open-air visits; water is available at stations and cafés for refills.
Sun protection (hat & sunscreen): Lightweight sun protection prevents sunburn during courtyard walks and platform waits.
Small daypack: A compact pack holds essentials—documents, camera, snacks—without slowing station transfers.
