Adventure Tips

Carry a GPS or offline maps

Cell service can be patchy on remote backcountry roads; a GPS device ensures you stay on course.

Wear NZ-approved helmet and protective gear

Safety gear is mandatory and crucial for protecting against changing terrain and weather.

Refuel frequently

Gas stations can be sparse outside town; plan fuel stops to avoid running dry on isolated routes.

Prepare for left-side driving

International riders should acclimate to New Zealand’s left-hand driving rules before heading out.
