A pre-dawn mist lifts off the Knysna lagoon and the first paddle cuts a clean line through glassy water. The guide points toward a headland where seabirds wheel and the forested slopes rise like a green wave. Whether you step onto a kayak, clip into a mountain bike, or follow a trail up to a lookout, the Garden Route moves—tidal estuaries nudging you, winds on the ridgelines testing your balance, forests holding back brief shafts of sun.
