Morning light slides across the valley as a private van eases onto Big Oak Flat Road—city traffic falls away and the Sierra Nevada rises like a story in granite. On this full-day route from Oakland, visitors trade freeways for forested corridors, brief roadside stops for panoramic Tunnel View, and guided narration for unhurried time at Yosemite Falls and El Capitan.

Expect about 3–4 hours each way depending on traffic and stops; total trip time is roughly 13–14 hours including park stops.
Tour descriptions typically exclude park entrance fees—confirm inclusion at booking and have a park pass or payment ready if needed.
No full-day hikes are included; stops involve short, sometimes uneven walks like the 1-mile Lower Yosemite Falls loop—suitable for most fitness levels.
Tours may be canceled or modified for safety in severe weather; check cancellation policy which usually allows full refund if canceled >24 hours before departure.
Yosemite was first set aside for protection in 1864; the valley’s early preservation influenced the national park movement in the U.S.
High visitation stresses sensitive habitats—stay on trails, pack out waste, and follow park guidelines to reduce impacts.
