You step out of the air-conditioned van into the scrubby green shoulders of the Anamuya foothills, the humid air smelling faintly of coconut and earth. Guides brief the group beside a row of off-road buggies; helmets click, motors warm, and a ribbon of dirt road unspools toward the river.
