The dhow eases out of Khasab harbor at first light, wooden planks creaking like a well-traveled guide. Carpets and cushions line the deck; the dhow’s low profile lets the cliffs of Musandam loom and then recede as you move deeper into the fjord-like inlets. Dolphins often arc ahead of the bow, daring you to follow.
