About This Adventure

Embark on a thrilling full-day Jeep tour through breathtaking alpine passes, historic mining towns, and scenic routes chosen by expert guides. Experience stunning landscapes, ghost towns, and wildlife while enjoying a leisurely lunch in town. With over 75 years of guiding excellence, this adventure promises unforgettable memories and spectacular sights.

A full-day Jeep tour with us is a true mountain journey—traveling through one alpine pass in the morning, stopping for lunch in a historic mining town, and returning by a completely different route in the afternoon. These tours often include destinations like Silverton, Telluride, or Lake City (if time allows), with your guide selecting the best route based on trail conditions and scenery that day.

This is the tour our repeat guests request year after year, and for good reason:

You'll see up to 4x more than most half-day tours that go to the top of a pass and return on the same trail.

A Little History… and a Lot of Legacy##

!Full Half day We've been guiding tours since 1946—40 to 68 years longer than our competitors

One family has returned for our tours 50 years in a row

Disneyland park executives paid us to help design their ride—and said: “Disneyland has nothing on us—our tour is real!”

We helped build Black Bear Pass in 1959, adding yet another round-trip route to the region

We have been featured twice in National Geographic!

Our original office sign compared full-day tours at $12.50 vs. half-days at $6—a value that’s still true today!

Additional Notes##

Black Bear traditionally opens around July 20, though dry conditions may allow earlier access

Wild Bill (a legendary guide!) drove it over 2,000 times, and our current drivers are keeping that legacy alive

We even inspired “Black Bear Road”—the first song on C.W. McCall’s original album, later followed by his hit “Convoy”

Book your full-day Jeep tour today and ride with the pros—more miles, more memories, and more mountain magic.
