A cold wind from the high Andes meets the bus as it climbs out of Mendoza and the valley opens into stone and sky. You arrive at Potrerillos first — a reservoir rimmed by scrub and volcanic ridges — then continue through villages that still carry Huarpes and Inca traces, each turn revealing sharper ridgelines and the distant bulk of Aconcagua.
