The day begins before dawn as a convoy of jeeps threads across Sinai’s ochre plains, the wind carrying salt from the gulf and a promise of turquoise water ahead. By mid-morning you’re standing at the lip of the Colored Canyon, where narrow passages press close and layered rock reveals ochres, crimsons and pale creams carved by millennia of wind and flash-floods. The canyon moves you forward like an impatient guide; every squeeze and turn reveals a new sculpted face.

The excursion is a full-day (about eight hours) and typically includes hotel pickup, jeep transport, a guided walk in the Colored Canyon, snorkeling at the Blue Hole with a guide, BBQ lunch, camel ride, and time in Dahab.
Most operators provide masks, snorkels and sometimes fins; check with your tour provider if you prefer to bring your own for a better fit.
Surface snorkeling is required; non-swimmers can often join with a life jacket and guidance, but infants must sit on laps and children should be supervised at all times.
The Blue Hole is deep and currents can change—follow your guide, avoid free diving alone, and stay within designated snorkeling zones.
