The climbing and abseiling day is full of adventure and challenge. It is possible to run both sessions at a single location but our recommendation is to climb at Burrington Combe and to abseil at Split Rock. Burrington has an excellent range of climbs with something for everybody, while Split Rock (near Wells) with its 25 metre vertical wall, is a superb abseiling venue. The two venues are about 8 miles apart so it is necessary to drive between locations during the day.
This combination is ideal for most participants but some younger children (and adults) may find the 25 metre wall a bit too extreme! More gentle abseiling can be done at Burrington if preferred. Climbing is also available at Split Rock but there is less choice than Burrington Combe, and the climbs are less suitable for children.
You can find photographs and videos of all activity venues here.
