The weather in Northern California is generally warm and sunny in the summer months, but can be unpredictable so please bring an extra layer of polypropylene or wool for warmth on spring days. All rafters should wear sandals that strap on your feet or tennis shoes with rubber bottoms, sorry but flip flops can not be worn on whitewater trips. Participants should wear clothes suitable for swimming, as well as bring sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.
Avoid cotton to stay comfortable on wet sections and during breaks by the river.
Use sweat-resistant sunscreen and a hat to guard against sun exposure on open water stretches.
Understanding commands and positioning greatly improves both safety and enjoyment through rapids.
